I have been creating jewelry for a few years now and I just recently began selling some of my pieces online. I initially picked-up jewelry design from my mom, who has been creating jewelry for about fifteen years and who I now design a lot of pieces with. We are always in collaboration and I enjoy that very much. If I had to describe my work I would have to say that it is a manifestation of a gift, blessing, and an honor coupled with faith (which I am always working to increase). With that said, I strive to create jewelry that is meant to adorn the soul and to encourage self-love and acceptance. I believe that we should all have reverence for our individuality and uniqueness and the core things that make us who we are, be it cultural or spiritual. We are all innately special and we need to celebrate that fact as well as respecting the right for others to be who they are. I like offering handmade one of kind pieces.  The majority of my pieces are hand drawn, hand cut and hand textured; I feel that it allows me to actually infuse my work with good energy and put my handprint on the pieces. I like unique items that are not perfect but make the perfect pair or piece.  I limit the ready made findings and massed produced items that I incorporate in my work so that my pieces can maintain their own individuality.  I also love rich and vibrant colors and unexpected color combinations and textures which I try to incorporate into my pieces. The result is goddess jewelry that is one of a kind which symbolizes individuality; along with being boho tribal chic with an afrocentric flair and of course…naturally glamorous.
Thank you Alex and your wonderful readers for allowing me to share!
