Good Link: 5/17/11

Click HERE for the Good Link.

An old high school classmate of mine and fellow natural, Anessa, has given me chills with her fab voice, great hair and awesome personality. Anessa reached out to me asking if I would spread the word on her newly dropped EP (which is awesome), of course I said YES! Good music, great hair? How could I say no to that? Any who, she also mentioned that she used my Marshmallow Curl Pudding to style her hair in her album photos, that made me feel so special! Since I've known Anessa, she's been able to sing and BOY oh BOY does that still stand true--- her EP is amazing. Under the jump is her bio and some fabulous pictures--show love and check her out! I love supporting my fellow sista's and I am in love with Anessa's hair, so I may be biased BUT I encourage you all to support and spread the word on this new artist. You can download her album by clicking the link above.

Bio:

Often introduced as the songstress from another planet, Anessa LaRae is a singer-songwriter of eclectic and intergalactic rock 'n' soul. Fusing infectious pop melodies with soulful rock and funk driven music, Anessa makes a happy place for herself in the world of music. With the gift of words and the heart of a poet, Anessa delivers musical messages of love, growth, and revolution.

Being the child of two active duty Army officers for the majority of her life, Anessa hails from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. After studying Music Industry at Drexel University for the past four years, she now happily considers herself a Philly transplant. Anessa’s true and permanent home, however, is on the stage. Giving her first performance at the age of 5, music is very old friend of this 21-year old singer. Infusing her years of jazz, classical and theatrical vocal training with her innate soul, Ms. LaRae has created a sound as unique as she is.

Overdue and long awaited, Anessa is working hard on her debut EP entitled Apocalyptic Genesis. Teaming up with the amazing Larry E. of Da Chu Productions and the dynamic Brian Dibiagio of The Violet Tone, this is truly a musical event not to be missed! Set to release Friday, May 13th of 2011, the excitement is building up for one of music's rising stars.
