There are a variety of hairstyles available to choose from but that doesn't necessarily mean they all suit the new hairstyles trends. Hairstyles trends just as fashion trends change from season to season, as the perfect look is obtained through the help of a multitude of matching details, which include hairstyles, makeup as well as a trendy-chic fashion style. Hairstyles play a top role in this matter so they should be given a bit of extra attention.

Taking a Break: UPDATE!

(photo taken in May; Hair: two strand twists done on blown out hair, lasted for about 5 weeks!)

Dear Naturally Leslie readers,

So after 7 lovely weeks with my baby boy, I returned to work today. It was tough. People tell you it is hard but you can't know until you experience it. Luckily, my son was being cared for by my husband who decided to take two weeks off. That made the transition back not so bad and I only called home a half a dozen times.

In terms of blog postings, I hope to get back in the swing of things at some point soon but I must request your patience as I get into this new routine. I am not one of those super bloggers who can have a baby, breastfeed, pump, take care of the little tot, and continue to post frequently without missing a beat. I need some time to adjust to this new phase and I am going to take it.

In the meantime, feel free to continue to comment as you wish as I will be able to moderate comments daily. Or, you can sit back and do nothing and just wait until I get back to posting! Either way, I appreciate your readership and support and I hope to return quickly. Also, you can email me topics you would like to see discussed here on Naturally Leslie in the future. I would rather do more posts about things than interest you but I need to know what those are! Send me an email to naturallyleslie@gmail.com.

Ok, off to bed. Take care and we'll see each other soon!

Love always,

Leslie

UPDATE:
Hey there everybody! I apologize for being MIA for so long. Thank you for all your emails and comments in my absence. School just got out for the summer and I hope to get back to posting really soon. If you sent an email and it went unanswered, please accept my apologies and know that I did receive it. I have been somewhat "unplugged" if you will and have not done much related to the blog. Baby is almost 4 months ( on July 4) and I can say I feel pretty adjusted. We're still nursing about every 2-3 hrs around the clock so that is tough and part of the reason I have not braved adding anything else to my plate! I hope you continue to stick around and hopefully I can star posting again really soon. I appreciate all your support!

Pizza Hut's 30th Anniversary

Advertorial

Woohoo!!! Was invited to Pizza Hut's 30th anniversary food tasting session where some bloggers and I had a first chance to try out their new menu which includes 25 new recipes!

(My first session with Pizza hut HERE)

6 new appertizers, 3 new pastas, 6 new Western favourites, 1 new baked rice, 2 new pizzas, 5 new beverages and 2 new desserts! So exciting.

I went there a very hungry girl and came out with my stomach almost exploding. Here are pics of some of my favourites:

Had an Emerald Sparkle which is just a creative name for my apple soda. Coz I was craving green apple that day! Refreshing and fizzy with little cubes of apple in it. :D

Stupid Huiwen snapped a pic of me as I was taking off my invisalign. LOL

After an unglam photo must post a pretty photo

We were all treated to the Pizza Hut staff dancing - then finally... FOOD!

Bruschetta with tomatoes and bruschetta with mushrooms

Crispy garlicky butter toast is the way to start!!
Especially love the mushroom one. Definitely a more creative choice.

Gobbling coz I was SO hungry. But I was responsible enough to stop mid-bite for a picture.

Thick fries on dips, served with a grilled cheese sauce and a salsa!!

Fries might be common and boring but imho it is very difficult to get perfect fries!! These were piping hot and crispy, and I LOVEEEEEE the cheese sauce! Even asked for a second helping of it. It seemed like everyone loves the cheese - the other sauce was kinda neglected.

Hut's Platter - what can I say?

Fried food's always good. The sweet n' spicy drumlets are definitely the star though. Also included are criss-cut fries, calamari and tempura prawns. I love the prawns!  Great for sharing or if you like variety in your appetitzers.

Hot favourite! Cheesy mushrooms!

The mushrooms were super juicy and almost bursts in your mouth!
Combined with melty slightly burnt cheese. Awesome.

My favourite of the day has to be the Cheesy mussels... Succulent mussels hidden under a thick layer of cheese and the little extra touch of bacon. Gone within seconds!

I love how the shell is like a spoon so you can slurp up the rest of the juices/leftover cheese after eating the mussel itself.

Here's a pic of  "Lady" Iron Chef  (Brad) taking a pic of our next dish, the Hut's Chicken Steak.

Hate him and his $3,000++ sibeh pro camera putting my poor LX3 to shame!!!!!!! Don't like this lah everyone also blogger why you so professional!!

Don't believe me? Here's MY picture, taken with a $800 (2 years ago) camera:

It looks ok... Not terrible but meh...

And here's Brad's... I WANNA RAPE THAT CHICKEN!! Ffffffffuuuu

Don't say it's skills ok!!!! Brad helped me take a picture with my camera and it also looks sucky so it's the equipment!!

I can't be bothered to describe the chicken coz that photo does all the selling.

Seafood fiesta baked rice

For cheese and tomato sauce lovers. It tastes kinda unique coz it's a little sweet with pineapples inside. Full of mussels, prawns and calamari!

Huiwen photobombing me

Finally a pizza!!!!!!!

Captain's Catch Pizza!

Super creative with potato chips on it!! This pizza has a generous amount of fried fish (like 炸鱼片) on it too. The sauce is kinda creamy and cheesy. Definitely something special unlike your usual pizzas!

Huiwen snapping a pic of me replenishing lip gloss. What? Must look good in photos what! Remember lipgloss cannot be photoshopped!

HERE COMES DESSERT!!!

Choco-Berry Banana Dessert Pizza!!

When we all ate this we thought it was just a biscuit under the fruits but it's real pizza!! Sprinkled with chocolate sauce, strawberries and bananas. I love those two fruits!!

So that concludes my blog entry... If you wanna try any of these, head out to any one of the 24 Pizza Hut outlets islandwide!

Hope I didn't make any of you too hungry!

Happy 30th birthday Pizza Hut!

KKQ's Hairsicle Cream Review

One of my favorite bloggers did a review on Safi's new Hairsicle Cream! Shana of Naturally Obbessed, AKA, Kinky Kurly Queen shared her thoughts on my new product HERE, click to read. :)

New Naturals: Creating the perfect regimen

I have been asked many times, "what makes the perfect regimen?" In my opinion is all depends on your hair type and needs. Many people say knowing your hair type is irrelevant, I disagree. If I didn't find out what my hair type was I would have been lost when it came to trying products and finding what worked best for me and my kinky, coily, curly hair. I think a lot of people use hair typing in a negative way though, which can cause tension and discouragement in the natural hair community but that's another story.  When it comes to being newly natural having a regimen can be very beneficial especially if you are consistent with your process. Dedicating 1 or 2 days a week on caring and catering to your hair does not have to be a challenging task. Many of you have said that you're in need of a regime that is quick, simple and to the point so I created one for you. In the "Good Hair" regimen below you will see how simple it is to have and create a quick routine, I will give your basic steps that helped me but feel free to change the regimen around to fit your personal hair needs. I will also give your direct links on where to find products that are affordable and good for your hair! You don't have to settle for cheap products that may be causing your hair to be dry and brittle. There are a lot of natural, organic and inexpensive items on the market that will do your hair a lot of good.

The Good Hair Regimen
Hair Days: Sunday and/or Wednesday
(Fell free to substitute your own days. These are the days I cater to my hair)

Pre-Poo (Pre Shampoo Treatment)-
Step 1: Section the hair in 4 to 6 sections and secure with clips
Step 2: Detangle each section of hair carefully from tip to root with a wide tooth comb
Step 3: Spritz sections with warm water
Step 4: Apply Vatika Oil from root to tip and massage the scalp
Step 5: Cover with plastic cap for 5 minutes

Co-Wash (Conditioner washing)-
Step 1: Apply Yes to Cucumber Conditioner on your pre-poo'd hair in sections (do not rinse the pre-poo our first).
Step 2: Detangle the sections with a wide tooth comb
Step 3: Rinse.
Step 4: Apply a leave in conditioner to your hair. My Good Hair Goop recipe will work great for hair that needs an extra kick of moisture.
**Some of us rather not use shampoo on a regular basis. Co-washing is great alternative for shampooing if you are deciding to stay away from shampoo. However, at least once a month I recommend that you clarify your hair in some way to remove excess gunk and build up that co-washing may miss**

Shampooing-
Step 1: Wash with a shampoo bar or castille soap
Step 2.Massage and clean scalp.Hair is dead and can only be preserved so be sure you are paying special attention to your scalp first. In order to grow healthy hair you need healthy and clean scalp. There is no need to shampoo your whole head. Start that the scalp and the soap will run down on to  your hair. It will get just as clean.
Step 3: Rinse with cool or cold water to seal the cuticle.
**Castille soap is a great product to use will clarifying. Adding a few drops of castor oil and a tablespoon of glycerin can prevent your hair from feeling stripped after the wash. Be sure to replace your hairs moisture with a good conditioner once you are done washing**
.
Conditioning (this step can be skipped if you co-washed)-
Step 1: Section hair in 2 or 3 parts
Step 2: Apply Hello Hydration Conditioner and smooth it on your hair from root to tip.
Step 3: Rinse after 5 minutes
Step 4: Towel Dry

Style as normal! Make sure you are using products that will keep your hair moisturized if it's prone to being dry. Below are some of my favorite styling products:

2. Shea Moisture's Restorative Conditioner (can be used as a leave in)

I hope the above regimen will help some of you! Remember tweak it to fit your needs if you need to. The steps, products and order are completely up to you. I just wanted to set a foundation for those who were at a loss for what to do.

xoxo,
Alex
