Wedding Weekend!

I have not posted in a while due to work and getting ready for this past weekend in Nashville, TN. My uncle got married on Saturday and I just got home a few minutes ago. I thought I would post some pics of us cause my mom's hair looked great. Mine was ok, it was so humid I just decided to pull it back into a bun and call it a day. The wedding was small and very nice...hope you guys had a great weekend as well!

My mom did a twist out with, of all things, Pantene's Time Renewal Replenishing Mask. It held up pretty well in the humidity.

I pulled my hair back in a bun using Fantasia IC gel. The back started off as a puff that I did individual two-strand twists in. After that, I tucked them all under with a hair band to make the "bun" part. I wore my scarf until it was time to go to prevent frizzies...but they were pretty much inevitable given the heavy moisture in the air.

Me and the bro...

Third Time's the Charm

Hey, everyone! I'm blog as Eesha at nappylove.com and I'm excited to rejoin this locked community! I'm growing my third (and hopefully final) set of locs - Sisterlocks this time. My blog chronicles this new journey, my daughters' latched locs that I maintain myself and my other nappy ramblings. My 300 Sisterlocks were installed June 13-14, 2009, and I am in love with them.

Wishbone

I actually dreamed about this style!! I know it's crazy that I dream about hair!! Anyway in my dream it was my older sisters hair that I did and it was much longer than Ryne's.

1)Start by parting the hair into 3 sections, 2 front sections and 1 back section like this...
2) Do a french style dutch braid with one of the front sections of hair, then repeat to the other side. So you should have 2 braids about half way down her head like this.3) wrap a small section of hair around the elastic and secured it with a bobby pin.4) Bring the 2 sections of hair you have left from the braids together divided it into 3 sections, then continue doing your french style dutch braid grabbing hair from the 3rd section.
This is what you should have when you are done. Now in my crazy dream I braided the hair all the way to the ends and tucked it under and secured with a bobby pin. Ryne's hair is to short to do that so this is what I ended up doing.
Top view.
It reminded me of a wishbone, so that's what I named it!!
Such a goofy girl, she is always so excited when I am finally done with her hair!!

I'm currently reading the last of the Twilight series and I'm trying to go slow because I really don't want it to end! So when I was asked to make these Twilight themed cookies for a birthday, I knew it would be a fun project.

While I was decorating these cookies, I noticed that the late afternoon sunlight was reflecting off of the tiny sugar crystals in the icing so that they were almost sparkling.

...And the same cookies all ready for their big trip to a wedding in Australia.
