Great Slip with Vo5's Strawberries and Cream Conditioner

CVS, $0.89

Ingredients: Water Aqua, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Stearalkonium Chloride, Stearyl Alcohol, Steareth-21, Glyceryl Stearate, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Leaf Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Tocopherol Acetate, Biotin, Niacinamide, Polysorbate 20, Ascorbic Acid, Panthenol, Propylene Glycol, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance Parfum, Red 33 CI 17200

Ingredient Attributes: silicone free, sulfate free, paraben free, glycerin free (via Naturally Curly)

My Experience: I have heard so many good things about Vo5's conditioners from fellow naturals. The product is cheap and provides great slip while detangling. I saw that it was on sale for $0.89 at CVS and I had to get a bottle to try for myself! Y'all know I love a bargain so a 15oz conditioner for LESS than $1 was an awesome buy. I've gone into a few different CVS before looking for the strawberries and cream conditioner but it was always sold out, so I was happy to get my hands on it this time around.  I used this conditioner while taking down the cornrows under my weave install. Every cornrow I took down, I lathered with conditioner, detangled and clipped off the the side to prevent matting and tangles. I was so impressed at how well my hair responded to it. My shed hair literally slid out very easily without snagging or knotting around my hair strands. I should have bought a few bottles of this stuff because I love it.  It smells like a great, like strawberry ice cream and it gets the job done.  I have also used it to co-wash and I was also very satisfied at the results. My hair was soft, moisturized and easy to comb through once the conditioner was rinsed out. My experience with this Vo5 conditioner was good and I am glad I gave it a try to see what all the hype was about.

Overall: I like this conditioner and I will be repurchasing when I see it on sale for just 89 cents! Such a great buy and it works very well. I would definitely recommend kinky, coily, curly haired ladies to try this out if you need a product that provided great slip at a affordable cost.

Hair Rules Kinky Curl Cream

I stumbled across my Hair Rules Kinky Curl Cream under my sink a couple of days ago and decided to give it a try AGAIN. The first 2 times I was not a fan of the product but this time around I got great definition using the products as a styling aid for twisting in prep for a twist out versus a wash n go.

I made a YouTube video that will be posted under the jump and I wanted to get you fellow naturals opinion on something. This products description is "This amazing, ultra-moisturizing curling cream transforms spongy 'fro and kinks into bouncy, luscious spirals, simply and effortlessly. Stretches and defines tightly wound tresses without chemical or thermal manipulation." Now, the part I highlighted in red is what I disagree with, personally I do not think that tight kinky hair cannot be "transformed" into BOUNCY LUSCIOUS SPIRALS but that's just my opinion. In my mind I am picturing type 4 curls becoming type 3 curls-- maybe it's just me. HairRules YT channel left a comment on the video which you can check out for yourself. Doesn't seem like they were too keen on my opinion.

I do think that there are products on the market, like this one, that can definitely enhance the natural curl pattern of ones hair but NO PRODUCT can give you what you don't already have. What do you ladies think about that? Please leave your comments in the box below, I think this can lead to some GREAT natural hair convo.

xoxo,
Alex

D.I.Y Hair Care's Neem & Green Tea Body & Hair Milk

Hey y'all, it's been a few days since I've posted but I'm back with some exciting news! I was sent a product from  Jarmelia of D.I.Y. Hair Care and I love it. Jarmelia and I actually did a product swap, I sent her a Safi product to test out and she sent me her awesome Neem and Green Tea Body/Hair Milk to try. Good deal , right?

Ingredients:  Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Juice, Lavendula angustifolia (Organic Lavender) Distillate, Anthemis nobilis (Organic Roman Chamomile) Distillate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ricinus communis (Castor Seed) Oil, Stearalkonium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Hydrolized Wheat, d-Calcium Pantothenate (Panthenol Vitamin B5), Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Rosa mosqueta (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Salix nigra (Organic Black Willow Bark) Extract

I like this product for 3 reasons, the ingredients are awesome, the detangling properties are amazing and it's affordable; the THREE A's! I tried the hair milk on my daughter's freshly washed hair and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to detangle her curls. The slip is great and the scent was also very pleasant.  Once I run out of this sample, I will be purchasing! My daughter's hair loves this stuff and it's a new staple for us.

Thanks Jarmelia!

Alex

Yay for Enso Naturals!!

I had the pleasure of hosting a giveaway for Enso Naturals a couple of weeks ago, I'm sure y'all remember that. The company was nice enough to send me some products to try and OMG, I am in love. My twist out today was so bomb, soft and smelling great. I was sent the Marshmallow Root Twisting Pudding and Sweet Honey Hibiscus Leave-In; both of which I have been stalking on their site!

The pudding was like nothing I have seen before and I was pleasantly surprised at the texture. It wasn't too thick, too watery, or heavy. It reminded me a lot of a gel more than a pudding but either way I loved it. My hair also seemed to be a fan. I coated my strands with water first, then the leave in before topping it off with the pudding to twist. I like how the pudding gave me enough slip to detangle my strands too, my denman slid through my hair.

The only complaint I have is about the leave in, it didn't give me the slip I thought it would. My hair is THICK and has the tendency to be DRY so I need my leave ins to be wet and thick at the same time. The leave in was heavy enough but I didn't feel like it soaked into my strands, it kind of sat there. The pudding definitely made up for that problem though, which is good because I know that these products work well in conjunction with each other.

Overall I loved these two products and will be a paying customer of Enso. Their products are natural, fresh and affordable which is ideal for me; exactly what I like in products. To purchase the products mentioned head over to Enso's site to lust after the great hair goodies.

Ayurvedic Hair Care: Vatika Oil

One thing that I love to coat my strands with is coconut oil, my hair loves the light fragrant oil and my thick hair soaks it right up. It wasn't until last year that I started using Vatika oil, which is a great coconut based oil that's full of great auyervedic ingredients like alma, lemon and henna! The henna along with other herbs coats the hair protects it from oxidation maintaining its natural color. The yummy amla strengthens the roots of  hair to help maintain overall health and natural thickness. And lemon acts as a  astringent and helps control sebum flow. Doesn't that sound great?  I often mix my Vatika oil with a deep conditioner which gives me a little extra moisture when needed. It's rumored that Vatika's unique natural formulation ensures deeper oil penetration to give your hair and scalp complete nourishment for problem free, healthy hair. I am not too sure about the "problem free" part but my hair definitely thanks me once it's slathered in oil.

I use Dabur Vatika Oil and I purchase it from here. It's a great buy and when I catch a good sale I stock up! Hairveda also sells a Vatika Frosting that is OUT OF THIS WORLD, also a great buy and the smell is to die for.

Are you a Vatika Oil user?
If so, how do you use it?

Alex

Product Review: Cantu Shea Butter Leave In

16 oz/$5.99

I've had this Cantu product sitting under my bathroom sink for months now. I tried it once and to be honest, I don't remember what my hair's reaction was to it so I gave it another go. According to the company who makes this product Cantu® Shea Butter Leave In helps moisturize dry brittle hair with deep penetrating oil and emollients that soften, detangle and add shine to hair. It also helps protect the hair against heat and sun styling damage and provides extra protection from split ends and breakage. See my thoughts below.

Ingredients: Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Glycine Soja Oil (Soybean), Propylene Glycol, Polyquaternium 37, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, PPG 1 Trideceth 6, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Stearalkonium Chloride, Trimethylsilylamodimethicone, Panthenol, PPG 1-PPG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, Lanolin Oil, Cinnamidopropyl Trimonium Chloride, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Acrylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride/Acrylamide Copolymer, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Benzophenone 3, BHA, BHT, Zea Mays Oil (Corn), Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, DMDM Hydantoin, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

My Experience: I used this product alone on damp hair and I was immediately impressed on the slip it provided. The thick creamy texture smoothed nicely on my hair and I didn't have to use a lot to feel like my hair was moisturized. Once my hair was dry it clumps nicely and the curls were popping all over the place. I felt like I had a soft hold, which I didn't mind. My hair was soft, defined and hydrated which was plus.

Overall: For the price and cost of this product I will say that I am satisfied. I can also purchase it on the ground which is a good thing. My local Target always has Cantu products in stock. I probably won't use this too often because I see that some of the may cause a lot of build up, like the "cones." Overall I'd give this product a 3.5 out of 5.

Curl Junkie's Smoothing Lotion Review

Under the jump is a video of my thoughts and experience with Curl Junkie's Smoothing Lotion. I must say that this leave in conditioner is BEYOND great and is almost tied with my love for Kinky Curly's "Knot Today" leave in. The smell is amazing, the texture is smooth and it's packed with glycerin, which my hair LOVES. I was able to pick this product up on the ground at the Hair and Body Boutique; it was $21 for 12 fl oz (pricey, worth it though) but not paying shipping was a huge plus. See the video below for my details.

Product Review: Sweet Ohm Hair Pudding

The product above is one of my absolute favorites, from Going Ohm. Sweet Ohm Hair Pudding is one of my staple products and I seriously cannot live without this stuff. I usually buy the smaller jar but this time around I decided to splurge and get the 16 oz jar and honestly, if they sold a 32 oz jar I would buy it. That's how much I love it! The product is said to stretch, moisturize and define natural curl patterns, while creating soft and naturally bouncy curls without a crunchy or greasy feeling. I find this to be true as far as styling goes. I have not trying it alone for curl definition yet but I plan on it soon. See my review below.

Ingredients: Unconditional love, Honesty, Divine Wisdom, Aloe Gel, Distilled water, Shea butter, Honey, Avocado Oil, Castor Oil, Pantheon (Vitamin B5), Yarrow, Sage, Natural Thickener, Nettle, Lavender, Horsetail. Emulsifying Wax, Vitamin E, Potassium Sorbate- Preservative, Colored with Wild Cherry Extract and Fragrance Blend

My Experience: My hair loves this product, as I mentioned earlier it is a must have in my product bin and definitely a staple. I use this thick pudding along with my Safi Avocado Shea Butter for twisting;  my hair always comes out plump, defined and moisturized. Sweet Ohm Hair Pudding holds a spot in my heart, not only because it works wonders BUT also because it's PINK and smells like sweet cherries. I like that it's naturally scented and colored, that's always a huge plus. When I am not styling with this product, I am use it daily on my scalp to get rid of any dryness. Sweet Ohm Hair Pudding is beyond awesome! I highly recommend it.

Overall: Even though this product is not cheap I will continue to repurchase! There are only a few products that I will splurge on and this is one of them. Sweet Ohm Hair Pudding does exactly what it says it's going to do and that's a huge plus for me. Also a little goes a long way so I will have this 16 oz jar for a while. I hope this product is NEVER discontinued, I love it.

Kiss my Face Gel vs. Eco Styler Gel

Today I decided to make a video that compared my new favorite gel by Kiss my Face and the Eco Styler Argan Oil Gel. Both of the products are good but I prefer the KMF gel--- see the video below for my thoughts.

Throw back: Luster's Scurl "No Drip" Activator Moisturizer (and today's hair)

Do y'all remember this product? Well, I came across this good hair throwback in "Family Dollar" and it brought back many memories. My mom used to use S Curl on my hair to detangle and moisturize when I was a kid. When I first went natural in high school (my very first BC) I started using it again. Not for curl defining (I had no idea what that was back then) but for giving my hair a "drink" of moisture when needed. After seeing it again recently I decided to get a bottle, just because. I also read that some of the ingredients are ideal for hair that has the tendency to get dry. Moisturized hair helps prevent breakage as we all know and I can never get enough moisture. With that said, I am GLAD I picked the oldie but goodie up! My twist out this morning came out great! All I used was water and the product, the second ingredient in it is glycerin, which my hair adores!

Click the jump for more info and pictures!

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Acetamide MEA, Ceteth-20, Olealkonium Chloride, Stearalkonium Chloride, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Simethicone, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance

Kiss My Face Upper Management Gel

r
8 oz/ $5.39

There is nothing better than this gel. Point blank, period. I am in love with the stuff, it beats out my Eco Styler Gels without a doubt. I first heard of this product on "It's Just Hair", one of my favorite blogs. When I first came across the review, I was skeptical. Mainly because the gel didn't work wonders the first time around. The reason why I decided to go ahead and give it a try was because the review ended up being a 5 star one and a lot of ladies on YT love it too, it's also very affordable.

Ingredients: Purified, Deionized Certified Organic Floral Water (of Nettle, Calendula and Chamomile), Carbopol, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate (Amino Acid derived), Yeast Extract, Panthenol, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Grapefruit Extract

My Experience: My hair loves this gel! The way my curls clump and coil once this stuff hits my strands is amazing. I used the gel on freshly washed hair along with Kimmay Tube's leave in conditioner and Koils by Nature's Shea Butter mix. I flat twisted my hair is about 15 twists and the results were great! Plump, fluffy, defined hair. No crunch AT ALL which was a great thing, I was so surprised at that. The gel laid my edges down great and I didn't experience any white residue, another PLUS!

Overall: YES, YES YES! This product is a must have and is now a staple product for me. No complaints at all! Type 3c/4a/4b curlies I suggest y'all give this a try.

Original Moxie Natural Hair Care (Mini Review)

I have some exciting news to share with you all! I was contacted by Rachel, the owner of Original Moxie, to try her line of all natural hair care products. First of all, I was super shocked when I got the email that she wanted me to give her products a try. I see a lot of  my other more "popular" blog sisters getting products to review, so this was an exciting moment for me. When Rachel emailed me she was very good at detailing what her company was about and I was immediately intrigued by her description; and OF COURSE I agreed to give the products a go. I asked Rachel to SURPRISE me with that she thinks would work for my hair type and regimen. She did just that and I got my package yesterday.

Original Moxie's products are mostly made from organic and unrefined ingredients. For those of you who've been reading my blog for a while, you know that I LOVE organic goodies. I received full sizes of the Get Clean No-Foam Shampoo, Intense Quench Deep Conditioner, Twist Mist Lightweight Shine spray, Scalp Therapy and Emoillience Penetrating Moisture. OMG, can you say HEAVEN! I was also sent me some sample sizes of other goodies to try; along with a sheet on how to use everything and a regimen outline. Let me start by saying that everything smells amazing. Very fresh, earthy and clean. I like the scents because they are not too overpowering and they don't linger in the hair.

Once I opened the package and set everything out I was so impressed with the ingredient lists. All of the products were loaded with amazing ingredients. The No-Foam shampoo caught my interest the most. Its filled with  things like: Aqueous Extracts of Amla, Bhringraj, Neem, Red Sandalwood and Rosehips. Best of all it's sufate free. Moxie products have Ayurvedic herbs in them, which is good since I am transitioning to an all Ayurvedic hair care regimen. These products fit in perfectly with my personal hair care and goals.

My hair was freshly washed Sunday so I couldn't used the shampoo and conditioner last night BUT I did need to re-twist my hair. I was dying to try SOMETHING from the line so I did. I decided to give the sample sized products a try. I used the Lux Locks Style and Shine with the Everyday Leave-in Detangling Conditioner to twist my hair then I sealed my ends with the Emollience Penetrating Moisture
Before applying the Moxie products I spritzed my hair with water and finger combed. I then applied the detangling leave in conditioner and oh my goodness was I impressed, my hair sucked that stuff up! I used my denman to gently get out some of the knots I had and the brush slid through my hair with such ease. Many of you know that I love leave in conditioners, I am happy to say that this one will be my new staple. Once my hair was ready to be twisted I added a small amount of the Lux Locks. My twist's immediately plumped up and my ends coiled very nicely. Lastly, I sealed with the Emollience product and VIOLA!, my twists wear pump, soft and moisturized.

Click jump for more.

I am very pleased on how my hair turned out this morning. I was able to achieve SUPER soft hair and nice curl definition from the Moxie products that I tried last night. My mom even compliments on how soft and healthy my hair looked. Her exact words were "it doesn't look dry today, I like it." (LOL, thanks mom.) When I took down my twists I usually use Vatika oil to prevent frizz but today I did not need any. My hair unraveled easily and was not frizzy at all, that is a huge plus for me. I added some water to my edges along with the Just Gel  and Hair Bling Pomade samples I received. I smoothed my edges with my finger tips, then followed up with a brush and then wrapped with a scarf. Honestly, I have never not used my Eco Styler Gel to lay my edges down, so I was skeptical at first but once I took my scarf off I was literally amazed! The Just Gel held my hair in place without any type of hard/sticky/crunchy feeling. The Hair Bling left me with a nice finish and subtle shine. I love my results.

I am so excited to review the FULL line on my wash day and make a YouTube video about my experience. I plan to try and wash my hair on camera for the first time with the Original Moxie products. I want to give my hair at least 2 weeks to adjust to the new products so I will be using nothing but Moxie on my hair along with my Henna treatments. It's only fair and I am NOT complaining. So far, I can definitely see Moxie products being my new go-to hair care products. Please stay tuned for another review and a new YT video.

Ingredients:
WATER, PETROLATUM, GLYCERIN, MINERAL OIL, ACETYLATED LANOLIN, GLYCERYL STEARATE, PEG-100 STEARATE, CRAMBE ABYSSINICA SEED OIL, WHEAT GERM OIL, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA BUTTER), THEOBROMA CACAO (COCOA) SEED BUTTER, HYDROLYZED KERATIN, PANTHENOL, PEG-8 DILAURATE, CETEARETH-20, STEARYL ALCOHOL, TRIETHANOLAMINE, FRAGRANCE, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYLACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, DISODIUM EDTA, DMDM HYDANTOIN, IODOPROPYNYL NUTYLCARBAMATE, ORANGE 4 (C1 1550), YELLOW 10 (C1 47005)

My Experience:
I usually use MJ's Baby Buttercreme but I had this lying around so I decided to give it a try for a twist out. I liked the results but I definitely prefer the baby buttercreme versus the curly buttercreme. The smell of this buttercreme is way too strong for my liking and wasn't as moisturizing. I had to use some shea butter and "Curl"s milkshake moisturizers to give me some slip and clumping. I think that I will stick with the baby butterecreme. The products essentially do the same thing BUT I prefer the smell and moisture I get from Baby Buttercreme.

Overall:
I won't repurchase this product. 2/5 stars for me.

Have any of you tried this product? If so, what are YOUR thoughts?

Product Review: Oyin's Hair Dew

8oz-$12.00

Product Description:
Creamy, conditioning leave-in is light enough for every day. it's great on 'naked' hair immediately after a cleanse, or as a way to reinvigorate tired hair all the way through your hair care cycle.

Ingredients:
purified water, castor oil, olive oil, organic aloe vera gel, behentrimonium methosulfate (emulsifier), coconut oil, olive squalane, optiphen (preservative), cetyl alcohol, and love!

My Experience:
I LOVE THIS, LOL! Maybe I am biased because I love everything from Oyin Handmade; all of their products works super well for me and my hair. When I heard that Oyin was releasing a new product I was amped! This light weight moisturizer smells like their Burnt Sugar pomade, very sweet and warm. The consistency is perfect, not too thick or too watery. You can definitely tell the product is water based which is good since water is the best moisturizer for natural hair. Oyin's Hair Dew goes on smooth and my strands SUCK IT UP, I used it for a twist out and I was impressed with how soft my hair felt once the twists were unravled. I am very pleased with it and super glad that I purchased it.

Overall:
As usual, Oyin gets 2 thumbs up! No complaints and I will be repurchasing.

Product Review: Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

$55 for 4.6 oz jar

Product Description:
Hydrates dry, damaged hair and strengthens and restores a healthy look and feel to hair. Leaves hair extraordinarily soft, silky, and manageable. Even healthy-looking hair shows a noticeable improvement.

Ingredients:
Elaeis Oleifera (American Palm Oil), Perfume (Fragrance), Citronellol, Lecithin, Linalool, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C), Citric Acid, Prunus Africana (Prunus Africana Bark Extract), Serenoa Serrulata (Serenoa Serrulata Extract)

My Experience:
I first used Ojon when I did my BC, I liked the results I got but the smell was just dreadful. I din't use it often. The last time I applied it was sometime last year, the remaining product was stuff in a bathroom drawer until recently. After taking down my kinky twists I decided to DC with Ojon under my hair steamer, it worked great! Since I didn't have to DC overnight the smell was tolerable. This product is a good if you are looking for moisture and a solution for dry hair but it is expensive. I got mine from Ebay for a little cheaper than the RSP but you can get it in stores like Sephora.

Overall:
I give Ojon 2 thumbs up but I will not be repurchasing. It is way too pricey. A little of the product goes a long way and it can last a while if you use it sparingly. I am just not willing to pay over $20 for a product when I need to restock.

"Peace Soap" by Kiss my Face

Product Description:
All Purpose, 100% Natural Castile Soap. Give Peace Soap a chance!

GOOD FOR YOU BECAUSE...
Olive & coconut oils- moisturizing and skin softening
Simple Castile formula - cleans gently, 101 uses
Lavender Mandarin - This soothing, relaxing scent transports you to a peaceful place.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil/Huile de noix de coco), Olea Europaea (Olive Oil Fruit Oil/Huile d'olive)*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil/Huile de jojoba)*, Xanthan Gum, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender Oil/Huile de lavande), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange Oil/Huile d'orange)
*Organic/Organique

My Experience:
I am a huge fan of this castille soap. It's very similar to Dr. Bronners castille soap but for some reason I like this one better. I think it's because of the packaging and the name, LOL. The scents are great too. I find that the scent variety is more calming than Dr. Bronners and no where near as strong. I use the Peace Soap to wash my daughters hair, my face and hands and I have also used it as a body wash. It's great! On the bottle is says you can use in practically anywhere on your body or in your house. It's even gentle enough to wash your car, eye glass lenses and FRUIT! Pretty impressive and it's affordable. I purchased two bottles from my local Target ($9.99 each) and I will definitely be going back for more.

Overall:
I like castille soaps because they are a great alternative to harsh shampoos and soaps that contain sulfates. Peace Soap smells great and cleans very well. I will be adding this to my staple product collection.

Product Review: Wen Cleansing Conditioner

Product Description:
Fig Cleansing Conditioner is a universal cleanser which, due to its rich, dense consistency, works exceptionally well to moisturize, hydrate and replenish dry, heat-damaged, color-treated, or dehydrated hair. This cleansing conditioner is free of sodium laurel sulfates and detergents, and cleanses without lathering or stripping the scalp or hair of natural moisture.

Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Wild Cherry Fruit Extract, Fig Extract, Chamomile Extract, Marigold Flower Extract, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Amodimethicone, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Polysorbate 60, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B-5), Menthol, Sweet Almond Oil, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Methlisothiazolinone, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Citric Acid, Essential Oils.

My Experience:
I LOVE this hair cleanser. It is amazing and works wonders on my curls. When I first learned about WEN products I was skeptical and it took me over a year to gather the guts to try it. I really did think that I would be disappointed but to my surprise, I wasn't. The consistency of the product is very smooth. I like the way it spreads on my hair, my strands suck it up. It also smells awesome and leave my hair and scalp feel clean but not stripped. Wen Cleansing Conditioner is now a staple in my co-wash regimen. Oh, and guess what? It can be used as a leave in too! BIG plus!

Overall:
I will be purchasing this again but this time I will get the biggest size they have instead of the little 6oz travel size. My hair loves this stuff!

Have any of you tried this product? If so, what are YOUR thoughts?
