Well, I've been natural since 2001.
I decided to go natural after I noticed the hair around my temples was extremely thin and damaged.
Around the time that I was taking notice of my badly damaged hair, I had a cousin who came to visit me from out of town and she had two-strand twists in her hair.
Her hair was gorgeous. I was in awe. During the time of her visit, I had tracks in my hair.
I commenced to questioning her immensely about her hair, and to follow up, after she left, I jumped on the computer to research natural hair some more. It was then that I discovered nappturality.com.
I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning on many of nights reading all I could on natural hair.
After about a month, I went to a salon and had the big chop done.
I wore every style imaginable for five years, and then in 2006, I decided to loc.
I wore my locs for three years. On May 31, 2009, I decided to take my locs out one by one.
I am about to embark on one year of having my hair out of locs.
I have been learning my hair all over again, and happily, my journey continues.
