See you in the blogosphere,
Thandi
Soooo... I can't seem to stop hauling! And MAC's coming out with another collection this weekend. No wonder I'm so broke! I went to Ulta this weekend and bought the Bare Minerals starter kit. I've been lemming it FOR-EVER! And I've been super annoyed with the Clinique foundation I've been using because it's been making me break out and making me super oily in my T-Zone. So I bought this:
It's just the starter kit and a brown Stila Smudge Pot. I even got free gifts for I'm not sure what? lol It's just a little empty travel set and a giant white Estee Lauder bag I can use for school. I tried the Bare Minerals and ooohhhmaaaagaaawwd I love it! It looks so natural and I think it's already clearing up my acne. But I haven't really tried any other mineral make up. But I think this is my new foundation for now. I love the kit cause it comes with so many things
It comes with 2 foundations, a dark and light shade, mineral veil, blush, bronzer, a face brush, long handled "buki" brush, & concealer brush. It's really a steal at $60 considering the normal sized foundation is $28. I couldn't help it either they're having a sale at Ulta on the Bare Minerals too! A regular sized foundation and mini kabuki brush for $35. So I went back got that and some nail polish. LOL
I swear, make up and MAC is such an addiction! I feel like I'm a crack addict swarming to make up stores/MAC counters just to get my next high. It's tough! But hey, at least I'm really not doing crack. I got 2 more mineral brushes and the 266 brush. The lady at the counter made me think I shouldn't have bought those because I guess the mineral blushes are now permanent. I thought to myself I should have just bought the lipsticks and lipglass from the Sonic Vibe collection that I wanted. Oh well I still love these colors! I even set up an appointment next month for the fall collection release or whatever. I'm not sure what it's called it's my first "event". The MUA was like "We ask for a $50 minimum that day" I was like, homegirl I'm lucky if I spend ONLY $50! My poor credit/debit cards. I'm so excited though!
Gleeful & Dainty
I did a subtle blue look today for school. I thought my eyelashes looked pretty so I'm posting these pictures. LOL

WHOO okay. I'm done with this post. LOL I'm just gonna post on Blogger Swap and call it a night!
So, I went to the MAC store like I said I would yesterday and I came home with more things than I told myself to buy. (like always)
I bought 3 empty e/s palettes, Plush Glass in Full For You, Ricepaper, Nylon, & Naked Truth e/s all in pans, the 189 brush from the New View collection, aaand Rollickin' paint pot! Can you believe they had it? I was just checking out the paint pots and thinking to myself "Maybe I'll get artifact next time." Lo, and behold, the very last paint pot was Rollickin'! I had to ask the MUA if it's permanent because I didn't see it there last time! He said that they just had a few leftover, so of course I took one! I should buy whatever they have left and sell it on ebay. lol! That's one of the reasons I love the MAC here in Tucson. Nobody ever goes to it because it's soo far, but they usually have all the LE stuff still in stock. I remember the Neo Sci-Fi collection, the solar bits were completely sold out everywhere in Hawaii and at the department store counters at the malls in Tucson, but I went to that MAC and they were like "Oh we have like 5!" haha The manager actually remembered me too and I was super happy when she complemented my make up. She even asked me what colors I used and she showed me how to apply the mineral e/s wet when I asked her. They make me feel so comfortable in that MAC. haha
I bought the 3 palettes because I've been getting annoyed that I have to find which colors I want and open them just to see if it's really the color I want to use. So I depotted them all! I didn't know that I accumulated so many e/s. It's just so much more organized and more compact in the palettes. I was scared to depot, too, just because most of the tutorials I found were using a candle or straightener! I'm really bad with that kind of stuff, but I found this tutorial from EnKore and it's really easy! The video is called Depotting Mac w/o Heat. It's basically pulling away some of the plastic that surrounds the pan and putting some alcohol under the pan to dissolve the glue and that's it! His tutorials are so helpful. The only thing is that I had to depot 30 e/s and all the glue started sticking to my hands. But I finished!
Almost all of them depotted perfectly, except for Chrome Yellow.
I don't think you can see it to well, but for some reason when I snapped the plastic away with the wire cutter a big chunk of it just cracked off. =[ I was able to salvage most of it, there's still probably 65 - 75% of product in there. I took a picture of all my MAC make up before I depotted them mostly because my sister wanted to see lol but here it is.
I'm super annoyed because I wanted to show you guys my little FOTD, the one that the MUA complemented me on but I can't find the stupid plug to my camera! =[ The pictures are directly on my camera's memory and I can't figure out if I can transfer it to my memory card when it's in there so ugh. I guess I'll just post it up later. And I'll put up a swatch post for all my goodies like I promised. LOL
I still can't get over that I didn't know I had comments! LOL I was always bummed when I check my blog and I'm like nobody visited me! =[ Not that I'm a comment whore or anything but it's just nice to see at least one comment on your blog you know? I feel like suuuch a retard! But I've just been overwhelmed with school, I'm taking math for my Summer Session II, Differential Equations at that. I spent like half the day doing homework or sleeping! They've been working me like a racehorse at work making me pull doubles all the time or giving me crappy schedules! I work at a gym, and I don't really work during the week but they run me hard on the weekends! One weekend I closed Friday night at 11, open Saturday morning at 7, open Sunday morning at 7, AND close Sunday night at 9. I was dead tired. The people who work out there were asking me if I live there! How embarasing! But now that I know you guys actually read my blog I am totally inspired! =] I can't do all my updates tonight so I'll just spread it out I'm off tomorrow too AND I got paid today so I'm gonna hit up the MAC store to buy me some palettes. Plus I've been totally checking out the 189 brush that comes with the New View collection. I always view shopping as, if it's there it's meant to be. Especially when it's the last one in your size! Of course, that's coming from me who is a poor college student, yet uncontrollable shopaholic.
I started this blog as a Make Up Blog - I had no idea there were so many people in the online blogger community! =] Plus my husband is deployed and I needed something to kill time with. But, I do have random thoughts on my mind so excuse me while I just rant for a few paragraphs.
Just random things about me you probably don't care to know, I graduated high school in June 2006 and 10 months later I married my first love. I know it sounds cheesy and I've got a lot of criticism for doing it, but so far it's been the best experience of my life. He's deployed now and I miss him a lot, but being apart really makes me realize how much I love him. But it really is true, that you don't know what things are like until you experience it. After high school I heard a lot about old friends or just people I knew who got married and a lot of the reason seemed like because the guy joined the military. People can totally put me in that category, but I honestly thing some people made a big mistake. The people I know have been getting married like teenagers hook up. They think that it's some kind of fairy tale and you live happily ever after, but truth is, it hasn't begun until you actually do get married. It just disgusts me that I go on my MySpace and their totally flaunting "I got married on July 23 2008 at 9:00 PM!" making a total big deal about it. Marriage isn't all rainbows and butterflies. The things that people do. They act like marriage is something to brag about, like it's another trophy on their shelf, it's so disgusting. And the whole "military wife" thing.. I just hate how people flaunt it. Yes, I am a military wife, but I have yet to experience half the things REAL military wives go through. Me running around bragging about it would be an insult to the women who have done it for over 20 years! Especially when half the people who get married this year are gonna be divorced in a couple years. I just don't think being married is something that you "show off." It's an intimate thing. I just know that I don't need to advertise to the whole world that I'm "such a good wife" when really the greatest feeling is knowing that what you feel for this person, that you love them with all your heart and soul, is mutual. It's like your own little secret. ;]
Okay, SO! I'm finally posting because I've been suuper busy & lazy with school/work/etc. LOL This post is strictly dedicated to my hauls/shopping sprees!
BTW Someone needs to shoot me because I just figured out that I haven't been moderating my comments. Poor me, I check my blog everyday which is kind of why I've been discouraged and check that I always have 0 comments, but I sign in today and it's like "18 comments need moderation!" I was like whaaat?! You guys inspired me to blog more now. LOL! But on with the hauls!
So, after reading numerous raves about MAC's E/S duo in Fresh Green Mix, I haaad to get it. Plus the Mineralized Blush in Nuance! And after reading Karen's Blog on Love Connection I'm eyeing that! But I have to hold myself back because MAC's coming out with collections faster than my paycheck does!
Then CVS had a sale on their Cover Girl products, I believe it was buy one get one 1/2 off? I got Fantastic Lash because it was one of the very first mascara's I tried out back in high school and I'm kind of attached to it and Lash Exact because I wanted to try it out.
I saw these cuuuute brushes at Kohl's from the FLIRT! Cosmetics line. Its like a mini 187/skunk brush! Plus it was only $6. I got a powder brush for $7 too. They were a little thin when I bought them but after I washed it out, the powder brush fluffed a lot more. The little skunk brush doesn't shed as much as my Coastal Scents brush either.
in the package..
outside of the package
I bought MAJOR goods from Victoria's Secret semi-annual sale. My Angels card is dying! LOL But I bought a bunch of cuute bathing suits.
I noticed that a lot of their stuff was cheaper in store than on the website. But of course in store they ran out of sizes so I would get whatever sizes I could get a hold of in store and order online for the matching pair! Like I got the bottom for this bathing suit in store for $15 but I had to pay $40 for the top! =[ It's still super cute though. I also bought another bathing suit but I'm really bad at keeping receipts so I'm just gonna sell it. If you're interested I'm posting a few things I need to get rid of.
My haul from Coastal Scents came in too! I'm a little skeptical about mineral make up because I don't know how to use it, I can't color match to save my life, and I'm suuuper messy! But They had a sale one weekend and samples were less than $2 so I bought a few. They're all pretty much samples: Silk Tan Foundation, Honey Dark Tan, Tinted Veil, Bellini Blush, Princess J Blush, Star Glossi Glaze, and a free sample of Emerald Green Glitter! I'll post swatches, etc later.
FYI, I got these over the course of 2 weeks I believe? LOL Not in a day! Surprisingly, I saved money since the hubby's been gone and I got us both the iPhone 3Gs!
Matching black & white of course. But I got his in the 8G because I'm a cheapo and I paid extra just to get a white one. LOL! Too bad they don't come in pink. Well that's it for my hauls... FOR NOW! LOL
I know I've been MIA for the past week, I just started my Session II Summer Class and it's killer! Plus I've been working and if I get a day off, I get called in anyway! =[ boo! At least it'll help me buy more make up! LOL. BUT I will be updating majorly this weekend. I've got...
+ mini hauls from MAC/Coastal Scents/etc
+ Review on the Neutrogena Wave
+ Review on Maybelline Colossal Mascara
+ FOTD
+ other random things so stay tuned! =]
- Mozzie bit me.
- I saw it land on the side of my couch.
- Couch is soft and white.
- If I attempt to smack Mozzie it won't die (due to soft surface) and even if it does, couch gets stained.
- Take bug zapper.
- MOZZIE DIES.
